Haley Reinhart releases David Bowie cover single “Heroes” from Netflix’ new movie “We Can Be Heroes”

As the “Heroic” Ms Vox, Haley Reinhart sings Bowie’s iconic song in the new Robert Rodriguez Netflix movie #WeCanBeHeroes duetting with her daughter A Cappella (Lotus Blossom) during the show’s climax. Haley’s acting debut came about because Rodriguez’ daughter, Rhiannon, was a fan of Haley’s so he reached out to see if she was interested in the part. In an instagram post, Haley talks about how getting the opportunity to sing the Bowie classic came to be:

“Fun fact: The incomparable Robert Rodriguez contacted me to be in his amazing film and gave me the opportunity to think of a song that I could sing a few a cappella lines to… I was driving, immediately pulled over on the side of the road, and sang a ballad version of Bowie’s iconic, “Heroes” into my voice memos… Robert went ahead and built an entire scene around it!!! I’m so grateful for you @rodriguez, your imagination, and trust in the creative process.”

“We Can Be Heroes” was number 1 for over a week contributing to the streaming service’s best holiday week, prompting Netflix to make the decision to red light a sequel

Haley Reinhart makes her screen debut on Christmas Day in Netflix’ Robert Rodriguez “We Can Be Heroes”

Haley finally scores her first big acting gig, and it’s not a cameo. Not only is Haley in some action scenes as “Heroic” Ms Vox, we’ll also get to hear Haley do what she does best, sing.

In an interview for Cryptic Rock, Haley talked about how the role came about

Haley Reinhart – I just landed my first lil role in a Robert Rodriguez film! I’ve always wanted to act and I’ve been putting it out into the universe since I was young… Besides being in plays and musicals growing up, creating my music videos has been my closest experience to acting and I want more! Robert and his lovely daughter Rhiannon are recent fans of my tunes and reached out to me to be in his next kids action movie called We Can Be Heroes. Stay tuned!”

Fun Fact: Haley also contributed in other ways to the movie. In the end credits, Haley is credited as the singing voice for her daughter “A Capella” as well as contributing a portion of the songs “Heroes”, “Don’t Speak” & “Chariots of Fire”

Haley Reinhart announces a new Holiday Single, “O Holy Night” #FisForFamily fan favorite

Ever since Haley recorded a clip of “O Holy Night” for the Christmas episode of the first season of her Netflix show “F is For Family”, fans would ask where they could purchase the full song? Unfortunately, FiFF Head writer, Mike Price (Simpsons), said there was no full version and that they only recorded what they needed for the show.

Fast forward to today, after Haley finished the final Table Read for “F is For Family’s” fifth and final season, she announced the date of her version of the much requested Holiday favorite, to drop Friday, December 11th.

First Look Haley Reinhart in NEW Robert Rodriguez Netflix Movie “We Can Be Heroes”

Director Robert Rodriguez (“Spy Kids”, “From Dusk ’til Dawn”) posted first images from his upcoming Netflix movie “We Can Be Heroes”. Haley can be seen in the background behind Pedro Pascal in a blue outfit

Rodriguez has said he wanted to get back into making movies for kids again (Spy kids, The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl), this time, including his children in the process, his son is said to be arranging the sound track for the movie.

Haley Reinhart said that she was contacted for the role partially because one of Rodriguez’ children is a big fan. Robert Rodriguez and his children came to see Haley perform at the Mercury Lounge last October where Haley came out to meet the family after the show.

The movie is expected out early 2021

Haley Reinhart announces new single dropping October 30th, Beatles cover “Good Day, Sunshine”. EP & “We Can Be Heroes” update

Something to tide #Haliens over until release of Haley’s new EP in 2021, Haley announces the release date for her newest cover, the Beatles classic from their “Revolver” album, “Good Day, Sunshine.”

During a meet & greet from Haley’s recent streaming show at the Whisky a Go-Go, Haley said of the upcoming EP will be covers and originals and produced by her frequent writing partner, Anders Grahn and his friend Swedish producer, Tingsek. Originally slated to drop in 2020, it was decided to re-set the release date to 2021 as Anders and Tingsek are in Sweden which means the process has been affected by the global pandemic.

During the meet & greet, Haley said she has seen the Robert Rodriguez Netflix Superhero movie “We Can Be Heroes” and it too will be pushed to 2021 instead of it’s original October 2020 release. Haley got a role in the Rodriguez movie partly due to one of his children was a fan of Haley’s music. His son is doing the soundtrack for the movie, Haley didn’t say whether she would be on it or not. Rodriguez and his children saw Haley perform at the Mercury Lounge last October on her Lo-Fi Soul Tour. She expressed a hope one day she might be able to talk Rodriguez into collaborating on a project.

Miss USA announces Haley Reinhart will perform live on air 8pm EST November 9th, 2020

“Miss USA 2020 will be the 69th Miss USA pageant. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it was originally slated for spring 2020, but now will be held on November 9, 2020 at the Exhibition Centre and the Soundstage at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. Akbar Gbaja-Biamila and Allie LaForce will serve as host while Cheslie Kryst and Christian Murphy will serve as backstage commentators. Haley Reinhart will serve as a performer. Cheslie Kryst of North Carolina will crown her successor at the end of the event. The winner will go on to represent the United States at the Miss Universe 2020 competition.

FYI will serve as the new broadcaster of the pageant, replacing Fox, which had broadcast the pageant since 2016.”

Haley & “Pops” Harry Reinhart delivered two amazing performances, bourne of the Spirits of Rock/Soul/Blues and the legends who recorded at Chess Records berore them.  The Father-Daughter duo delivered a stirring cover of Blind Faith’s “Can’t Find My Way Home” and an Etta James inspired Haley original song “Don’t Know How to Love You”.

Haley Reinhart, accompanied by her father on guitar, performed a 2-song set at Chicago’s famous Chess Records studio as part of the virtual music festival ‘(De)Tour’ – a fundraising event benefiting NIVA (National Independent Venue Association https://www.nivassoc.org) and ‘MusiCares’ (https://www.grammy.com/musicares). Both these organizations were created in the wake of the COVID19 pandemic to help struggling independent venues and their staff that were shuttered for the entire duration of the health crisis.
